Castor oil is extracted by pressing the seeds / beans of the castor plant.

For centuries, castor oil has been a popular treatment for dry, brittle, damaged hair or hair loss. With its richness in vitamin E, omega-9 and omega-6 fatty acids, it has also been shown to stimulate hair growth.

High in ricinoleic acid, castor oil is highly moisturising, making it a wonderful ingredient in skincare too. The anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties of castor oil make it popular in helping spots or acne, despite it being quite a thick, viscous oil.
