Ever wanted your skincare to smell like a forest walk?
This Pine Resin Face Balm is rich, grounding, and made with just a few natural ingredients. Think deep moisture, skin protection, and that cozy, woodsy glow. This mixture acts as a skin-soothing, antiseptic, and deeply moisturizing balm—ideal for dry or cracked skin.
Resin-infused oils + plant wax = a balm your skin will drink up. Perfect for dry days, chilly weather, or when your face needs extra love.
12g of raspberry seed oil
6g of organic castor oil
6g of candelilla wax
3g of pine resin
Time to make: 20 minutes
You will need: heatproof glass jug, spatula/spoon for mixing, tin or glass jar for your finished product
1. Gather Your Resin - start by taking a mindful walk in nature and collect some pine resin. Look for hardened resin on the bark of pine trees (never cut into the tree—only take what has already naturally formed and hardened). Bring it home and remove any visible bark or debris.
2. Prepare Your Double Boiler - set up a double boiler on low heat. Add:
Allow everything to melt slowly and gently. Stir occasionally until the resin and wax are fully dissolved into the oils. Keep the heat low to preserve the properties of the ingredients.
3. Strain (Optional but Recommended) - if there are any remaining bits of bark or impurities, carefully strain the liquid mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth while still warm.
4. Pour & Set - transfer the warm mixture into your prepared containers. Let the balm sit undisturbed at room temperature until it fully sets and hardens.
Once solid, your pine resin face balm is ready to use.
Store in a cool, dry place and apply a small amount to dry or cracked skin as needed.
