Calming Temple Balm is a soothing homemade remedy inspired by Kate Ring's new book, "Castor Oil: The Holy Grail." This simple DIY recipe harnesses the potent benefits of castor oil, renowned for its anti-inflammatory properties, combined with the moisturising effects of coconut oil. To enhance its calming ability, peppermint and eucalyptus essential oils are added, both known for their cooling and invigorating qualities. This balm is particularly effective for relieving headaches and tension when gently massaged onto the temples and forehead.
20g of Organic Castor Oil (2 tbsp)
6g of Organic Virgin Coconut Oil (1tbsp)
10 drops of Organic Peppermint Essential Oil
10 drops of Organic Eucalyptus Essential Oil
Time to make: 20 minutes
You will need: heatproof glass jug, 2x 10ml glass roll-on bottles
1. Combine castor oil and coconut oil and heat gently in a double boiler for a couple of minutes, until coconut oil has dissolved.
2. Add essential oils and mix well.
3. Pour the mixture into the roll-on bottles
To apply, gentle massage onto temples and forehead to to relieve headaches and tension.
Store in a cool dark place.
