Rosy Body Butter
This rosy whipped body butter is a luxurious skincare treat that combines the nourishing properties of rose petals infused jojoba oil, shea butter, and coconut oil. These ingredients work together to deeply moisturize and hydrate the skin, leaving it soft and supple. The addition of pink clay not only gives the body butter its lovely hue but also helps to gently detoxify the skin. The rich, creamy texture of this body butter glides smoothly onto the skin, providing long-lasting moisture and a subtle floral scent that lingers throughout the day.
Ingredients
100g of Organic Unrefined Shea Butter
50g of Organic Virgin Coconut Oil
3 tbsp of Rose Petals infused Jojoba Oil
1tbsp of Rose Pink Ultra-ventilated Clay
15 drops of Organic Lavender Essential Oil
6 drops of Rose Geranium Essential Oil
Time to Make: Prep time: 5 minutes. Make time: 15 minutes
You Will Need: a pyrex bowl, double boiler (saucepan to put the pyrex bowl above for melting ingredients), spatula, whisk, glass jar for your finished product
Method
To make rose infused oil:
Fill a glass jar with rose petals and top with the oil. Push down the flowers so that they are fully submerged. leave to infuse for about week or two, shaking occasionally. Strain the oil into another glass jar using a sieve or a muslin cloth.
1. Place the shea butter, coconut oil and infused oil into a heatproof bowl and melt over a double boiler on a low temperature.
2. Place it in the fridge to set.
3. Then whisk at low speed for 3-5 minutes.
4. Add pink clay and the essential oils and whisk the mixture until it is light and fluffy.
5. Spoon into the glass jar . Store in a cool dark place, away from heat.
Tip: Get creative and infuse your oil with lavender, chamomile or calendula flowers instead!. You could also use a different carrier oil such as apricot kernel oil or sweet almond oil.
