Organic Shikakai, Acacia concinna, powder can be used to wash and condition your hair in place of shampoo. It was used in India for thousands of years as a totally natural shampoo and hair conditioner. Shikakai means ‘fruit for hair’.

Shikakai not only cleans your hair without stripping it's natural oils, it is very beneficial for your scalp and helps to prevent dandruf and promote healthy hair growth. It also helps prevent hair tangling, and makes flyaway hair more managable.

Directions: Mix shikakai in to a paste with water, apply all over scalp & hair, leave it on for a a few minutes & rinse off. Avoid getting Shikakai in your eyes. Shikakai can also be made into a tea or decoction which you rinse your hair with.

Shikakai can be mixed to your own recipes with other Ayurvedic powders. For example mix it with reetha powder to enhance the cleansing properties, or mix it with amla to give gloss and promote hair growth.
