  • 120g Sugar
  • 30g Water
  • 2 tablespoons of Lemon Juice

Here's the how to:

  1. Boil all the ingredients in a sauce pan for about 10-12 minutes. Keep stirring it so it doesn’t burn.
  2. Once it turns caramel brown colour immediately remove it from the heat and place in a small jar.
  3. Let the mixture cool for 5-10 minutes until it is solid enough to form together.
  4. Spread the wax on your skin and let cool for another couple minutes.
  5. Leave for 3-4 minutes to cool.
  6. In one swift motion peel it off.  Peel against your hairs for best results.

We'll be honest, this DIY can take a bit of trial and error so don't be disheartened if it doesn't work first time. It took us a few goes to get this right but when you do you'll be surprised by the amount of hairs this handy and super simple recipe will remove. It acts just as traditional wax but because it is all sugar and water, it is so much easier to clean up. And for any left over strays, just take a tweezer to them.

After using the sugar wax, you might want to finish off by applying a lotion or balm for a nice sheen. Pure jojoba oil works well too. If your legs are a bit sensitive after waxing, precede your moisturiser with some cooling, soothing aloe vera gel.
