Winter is the critical time when we need lip balm the most.
Our lips don’t moisturise themselves well, so when the weather is very lacking in humidity, which it is in winter, we need to add some.
Otherwise, we start to see cracking and soreness, which makes us feel terrible as well as hurts.
We’ve a rule though; if you wouldn’t eat it, don’t put it on your lips! And mainstream balms are often packed with unpleasant chemicals and preservatives that given the choice, most of us would avoid.
Instead, learn a new skill and make your own!
This homemade lip balm is so easy to make. It has just three Ingredients, all of which are completely natural, and will help you say goodbye to chapped lips forever! If you’re new to DIY beauty this recipe is a great place to start.
It’s so good, that before you know it, you’ll be whipping them up as little gifts for friends, relatives and anyone who complains of a little chapping!
INGREDIENTS
½ tablespoon of Carrier Oil (we recommend olive, almond, coconut, or sunflower oil as good lip balm bases)
1 tablespoon raw Shea Butter
10 drops of Essential Oil of choice (essential oils that are safe to use in lip balms are peppermint, lime, lemon, orange, clove, lavender and tea tree)
