Charcoal is great for your skin. Strange as it may seem activated charcoal does wonders to brighten the complexion and cleanse pores.

For thousands of years Charcoal has been used in Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine to detox the body. It works by binding to toxins and chemicals in the skin, deeply penetrating pores and capturing dirt and grime so you can easily wash them away. This means the topical use of charcoal, including in soap, can be effective for pore decongestion.

Essential oils of bergamot, cedarwood, orange and rosemary add to the soap’s cleansing and purifying properties.

We carefully hand-make the soap at Acala HQ in Suffolk over a period of several weeks. We use traditional methods which combined with high quality plant oils (organic olive, sunflower, cocoa and raw shea) gives the soap natural nourishing qualities.

All online orders placed by 13:00 (GMT) Monday to Friday will be shipped same day. Orders placed over the weekend will be shipped on Mondays.

Currently Acala uses different Royal Mail services to ship orders: Standard or Expedited for UK mainland and Standard or Tracked for overseas. Acala is continuously striving to reduce it’s carbon footprint and as the business grows, and order sizes reach the amount needed to make the use of a green courier service viable, we will make the switch. When placing an order in currency other the GBP you can choose between a Tracked Standard courier service (up to 6 working days) or DHL Express Air (up to 2 working days) at the checkout. Please note the total amount you pay includes all applicable customs duties & taxes. We guarantee no additional charges on delivery.

Planet-friendly packaging: we wrap all orders by hand in our Suffolk based office using recycled paper, and card, held together with natural tape, made in the UK. You can also elect to receive your order in our reusable packaging service eliminating waste from your delivery. You will receive your Acala order in the most minimal packaging possible to keep your order safe in transit.
