Keep reading for our tried and tested home-spa treats that will transport you to your favourite spa with all the relaxing feels!

1. Set the scene

Fetch your favourite candle and switch off the lights to transform your bathroom into a relaxing oasis. Choosing a candle with a soft floral or spiced chai aroma will add to the relaxation as it fills the room. Looking for a candle? We are loving the W+W Workshop candles, each hand poured in the UK, these vegan soy wax candles not only smell divine but are zero-waste! Each jar is made from recycled glass - and to top it off they give 5% of their profits to charities that help the planet!

2. Press play

Start the relaxing tunes on a calming playlist. Maybe you already have your own playlist for this exact moment (If this is you, we are loving this!) and if not, not to worry! We can recommend the Relax & Unwind and Easy Acoustic Spotify playlists.

3. Upgrade your bath

Dried lavender, chamomile and epsom bath salts

All good at-home spa sessions should involve a long, hot soak – whether you choose to dive into a good book or simply lie still and submerged for a while. When it comes to taking your bath from everyday to exceptional we recommend adding Epsom salts to soothe  mind, body and soul. Epsom bath salts, rich in magnesium, are ideal for treating sore muscles and setting you up for a great night’s sleep. The magnesium and sulphate in epsoms salts work together to reduce inflammation and the absorption of nutrients, flush toxins, and help ease migraine headaches. We also love  the salt texture itself- it’s an incredible natural exfoliator and will buff away those dead  skin cells leaving wonderfully smooth skin.

Bathtub additions - Reach for the lavender essential oils and add a few drops to the bath water for a soothing and calming effect. We love to add dried lavender or dried chamomile, or better yet, make a relaxing bath bag by mixing both in a muslin bag.

 4. Indulge In A Facemask

Oats yogurt and honey facemask

A proper at-home facial will likely form the centrepiece of your spa session and we’ve got a DIY facemask recipe for you that’s so good you’ll want to eat it – and you can! You’ll find the ingredients for this facemask in your kitchen cupboards! All you need for this skin refreshing facemask is:

- 1tsp of honey

- 1tsp of oats

- 1tsp of greek yogurt

To make the mask, simply add all the ingredients to a bowl and mix. Then apply to the skin and leave for 10-15 minutes – A slice of cucumber on the eyes is an optional!

 5. Polish Up With Our Coffee Scrub

 Coffee grounds scrub

If you’re anything like us you’re a big fan of the good stuff so, rather than throwing the grounds away, repurpose them into a rejuvenating brightening spa style face and body scrub! Coffee grounds are a natural exfoliator so, not only do they smell uh-mazing, they do wonderful things for your skin. If you’re looking for a natural exfoliator with zero prep time, you can gently use the coffee grounds straight to the skin. If you want to step up the experience try our recipe:

You’ll Need:

  • 6 teaspoon of coffee grounds
  • 3 teaspoons of coconut oil
  1. Add the coconut oil and coffee grounds to a bowl and mix into a paste.
  2. Apply the paste to your body gently as coffee grounds can be abrasive if applied aggressively.

    6. Master Facial Massage

Ease mental stress, increase skin elasticity, reduce puffiness and boost overall collagen levels with our jade roller. We recommend using after you have completed your skincare routine and then using the facial roller from the centre of your face up and outwards towards your temples and on the forehead, use an upwards motion. This process can then be repeated on the side of your nose to complete the facial - you now also have the perfect canvas for your skincare routine
