Jojoba golden oil is expressed from the seed of the jojoba plant, a shrub, which is native to southern Arizona, southern California, and northwestern Mexico.

It is actually made of liquid wax esters rather than oil that are very similar to the bodies naturally occurring sebum. These wax esters act as a natural moisturiser and environmental barrier for the skin.

Although using oils to cleanse and balance oily skin can seem counter intuitive jojoba oil can prevent the skin from becoming too oily. This is because the structure of the oil so closely resembles natural sebum, it causes the skin to produce less natural sebum, which, unlike jojoba, can clog pores.

The antimicrobial properties of jojoba oil prevent the growth of some bacterial and fungal microbes that attack the skin. A very mild oil it is perfect for those with sensitive skin, acne prone or oily skin.

Use jojoba oil in its raw form as a cleanser and moisturiser or as part of simple, natural recipe.

If you are using this oil for the first time then we would suggest starting with a 30ml bottle to trial on your skin.

Comes to us in bulk in a HDPE plastic bottle. We are working on a refill programme with our supplier to allow us to sanitise and send back the bottles for re-use in our next order. If this is not achieved with this supplier we will look for another.
Delivered to you in a glass bottle with aluminium lid.
We are working on setting up pre-paid returns so that you can send your bottles back for sanitisation and refilling.

Great product

Jojoba oil is excellent! Works fantastic as a moisturiser for day and night. Works great with the make up and skin feels great.

Love it

Never used jojoba oil before but I've got combination/oily skin and was looking for an organic moisturiser. This works great. I use about 3-4 drops and pat it over my face and neck after I moisturise with aloe vera gel and my skin feels amazing. It feels a bit heavy at first and takes a bit longer to sink in then normal moisturiser but I have hardly any oil build up by the end of the day. The glass jar and metal cap it comes in means it's a plastic free and organic. Plus it came with a handwritten label and note from the Acala team, which I really love and appreciate. Will definitely be buying this again.
